Red, White and Brew

This month, America celebrates something remarkable... a 250th birthday.

250 years is almost impossible to picture. It's older than everyone in my family, older than every building on this island and older than most long living creatures on this planet. It's pretty remarkable when you stop and think about it.

We celebrate 21, 30, 40, 50 maybe even 100 if we're lucky. But 250? That's the kind of milestone you need a blowout banger for.

I think that's what I'm most excited for this Fourth of July. Already, the island is decked out in American pride, people are shopping for hot dogs + buns and making sure to stock the fridge full of beer. I've purchased the red, white and blue for my family and am hyping up fireworks lighting up the sky. I am ready to indulge in the biggest celebration with 340+ million Americans.

There's something pretty special about sharing a birthday that's bigger than any one person. We choose to celebrate something we have in common and maybe that's what this 250th birthday is really for. To bring people together and celebrate, no matter where you're from or what perspective you bring to the table.

Whether you're spending it on a boat, watching fireworks on the seawall, or relaxing on OUR patio, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the company you're with, and the strangers celebrating right alongside you. For one little weekend, we are all coming together to celebrate the same thing- the country we call home.

So here's to 250 years of independence, and here's to raising a glass of independent craft beer while celebrating it.

Until next time,

The Beer Philosopher
